An interesting anecdote about the cleanliness and whiteness of Mykonos ▶ One evening I saw how the waiter accidentally spilled red wine on the white wall and pavement. The stain appeared immediately. The next morning, when I passed by, the stains were gone, because the wall had been painted over and the pavement scrubbed. They take so much care of cleanliness and sparkling whiteness!



Glamorous wonderful Chora
Mykonos Chora is the most glamorous Cycladic town that fascinates with it’s whiteness. Neither one other Chora is as white as Chora on Mykonos!
At first sight, visitors are impressed by Chora’s stunning position and wonderful architecture. The sunlight pouring over the whiteness of the Cycladic landscape enchants visitors. Although there has been a huge tourist development, Chora has still retained its traditional characteristics.
Trademark of Chora are windmills and Little Venice. The famous picturesque windmills on the hill are a defining feature of Chora’s landscape. They were built by the Venetians in the 16th century. Next to it is the charming part of Little Venice. Then beautiful locations like the picturesque Castro and the old port, the wonderful Matogianni street.





Impressive Panagia Paraportiani church
The Church of Panagia Paraportiani is located in the Castro neighborhood in the capital of Chora and is one of the most significant sights of the entire Aegean. It was named after the “Paraporta”, the small northwest entrance of the wall where it was built.
The construction of the church began in 1425 and was completed finally in the 17th century. This impressive white church is a unique architectural structure. It consists of 5 separate churches that are joined together – 4 churches are located on the ground floor and form the foundation of the fifth church built on top of them.
On the ground floor are the churches of Agios Efstatios, Agios Sozon, Agios Anargiri and Agia Anastasia, and above them fifth the name Paraportiani.


Each location is extremely charming and picturesque. Narrow cobbled and white-painted winding streets in which it is a pleasure to get lost!
A walk through Chora is a perfect visual experience with beautiful snow-white houses with colorful windows surrounded by wonderful flowers, charming squares and picturesque churches at every turn! Shops, taverns, bars and clubs all around.



The idyllic sleepy atmosphere in the morning and during the day is transformed in the evening and during the night into a fantastic place for a great fun. Nightlife is considered one of the best and most attractive in Europe!
You should explore and enjoy in the top restaurants, bars and if you are in the mood late into the night clubs! Or at least walk and enjoy the whirlwind of narrow streets and wonderful surroundings. The vibe is unique and will surely be remembered for a lifetime!
Hundreds of celebrities, members of the jet-set, artists, intellectuals walked through the streets of Chora, partied until dawn, or experienced unforgettable moments in the crystal clear blue sea.

Little Venice
Trademark of Chora is the charming part of Little Venice.
A row of fishermen’s houses by the sea with balconies hanging over the sea. The first house was built in the middle of the 18th century. Today are mostly bars and clubs, galleries and shops.
One of the most beautiful and romantic locations, ideal for enjoying the sunset! It attracts artists who come to paint the picturesque coast!
Chora is the best place to spend the evening! There is a place to enjoy for everyone’s taste. In the evening, Little Venice becomes a great place to have a great fun in fantastic clubs right by the sea. My first choice in town!



Matogianni street
Walking through Chora is a perfect visual experience with very charming and picturesque locations!
Beautiful Matogianni street with a unique vibe and a party on the street like at some festival. Ideal for walking, shopping or spending time in bars and clubs.



Yes, Mykonos is too expensive, but you can get by on cheap! I will write about it separately and in detail, because at least we here are masters of improvisation, or is it me?!

Ano Mera
Ano Mera is a picturesque and authentic village located 8 km east of the main town of Chora.
Built on a hill in the island’s interior in traditional Cycladic style, it offers a more tranquil setting compared to Chora.
A significant historical site and the village’s gem is the wonderful monastery of Panagia Tourliani from the 16th century. The monastery complex is an impressive white building with a stunning three-aisled church adorned with a beautiful hand-carved iconostasis.






In the lovely central square around the monastery, there are numerous traditional taverns and restaurants, where you can enjoy local cuisine or drink coffee.

Mykonos beaches
During the day, chilling, enjoying and seriously partying is great on the beaches. My top recommendation is my favourite Paraga beach, than Super Paradise, Psarou, Elia, and the craziest parties are at Paradise Beach.
A sequential overview of the southern beaches starting from Ornos beach, towards the east of the island. The first southern beach you reach from the main town is Ornos beach.
Ornos beach
Ornos is a picturesque spot with a beautiful sandy beach located in a protected bay, 3 km south of Chora.
The golden-yellow fine sand and shallow, transparent azure water make it popular among families and couples looking to relax.
Like most beaches on Mykonos, Ornos is well-organized with beach bars, restaurants and sunbeds, making it ideal for a comfortable vacation.



Psarou beach (And Rich People Cry beach)
Did you know that there is a beach on Mykonos called “And Rich People Cry”?

Platis Gialos beach
Platis Gialos is a popular tourist resort located in a picturesque bay with a fine sandy beach, 4 km from Chora.
One of the most visited beaches on Mykonos, known for its lovely soft golden sand and idyllic shallow crystal turquoise water, perfect for families.
The beach is fully organized with beach bars, restaurants and sunbeds, as well as numerous accommodations around the beach.

Paraga beach
Paraga is my favourite beach on Mykonos!
The definition of a perfect beach – A stunning bay, a rock near the shore ideal for chilling, an incredible turquoise-blue crystal sea, and fine golden-yellow sand, just as it usually is on Mykonos.
The alluring setting is enhanced by exotic palm trees and greenery, along with a captivating view of Naxos & Paros visible in the distance.






Paraga is known for its great & lively beach bars offering a vibrant yet laid-back vibe:
1️⃣ Scorpios – Fantastic restaurant and beach-bar, which is isolated on the cape and is synonymous with classy and superb entertainment.



2️⃣ Kalua – Excellent place to enjoy with great music.


3️⃣ SantAnna – A luxurious place that has sunbeds on the beach, but also a separate secluded part with a pool, bar and sunbeds for those who don’t want to be by the sea.


Paradise beach
Paradise is a famous party beach located about 5 km from the main town of Chora.
Very popular and frequently visited, especially among young people looking for an unforgettable, wild and laid-back party. Where there’s youth, there are jokes and good fun!
During the summer, the beach hosts numerous parties featuring performances by world-renowned DJs.
Tropicana is a legendary beach bar on Paradise beach.
Tropicana has been considered for years as the best party place on Mykonos.
The party is unforgettable and unrepeatable! The vibe is great, everyone is superrelaxed and dancing!



Super Paradise beach
The most beautiful beach on the island, located in a sheltered scenic bay surrounded by high rocks.
Fantastic sandy beach features wonderful soft golden sand and an incredibly crystal-clear blue sea that takes your breath away!
The beach is very popular and organized with excellent beach bars, where a great time is always guaranteed.
There is also an untouched part of the beach where you can relax and enjoy the lovely sand.


Agrari beach
Agrari is an excellent sandy beach, surrounded by rocks on one side and with transparent blue water suitable for swimming.
Located 8 km from the main town, in a large bay that also includes the famous Elia beach.
Agrari offers a more tranquil settings, with one part of the beach featuring beach bars and sunbeds, while the other part remains untouched – perfect for peace and relaxation.



Elia beach
Elia is a great sandy beach located in a large bay, surrounded by a high hill on the left side, where many luxury hotels are situated.
Picturesque landscape, golden-yellow sand and gorgeous turquoise-blue clear water are the main assets of this enchanting beach.
This famous beach is well-organized with beach bars and tavernas, as well as facilities for water sports.
Elia beach is the last stop accessible by regular taxi boats. It attracts celebrities, but is also popular among families, as it offers a calmer and more relaxed atmosphere.
On the right side, there is a nudist section for those who prefer naturism.






Kalo Livadi beach
A phenomenal wide beach located in a large bay surrounded by hills, 10 km from Chora.
Stunning landscape with delightful soft golden sand and incredible turquoise transparent water, is enhanced by the greenery in the background of the beach, offering natural shade.
The divine setting and spaciousness of the beach are ideal for tranquility, unwinding, and swimming.
There are two excellent beach bars on the beach, occupying a small section, while the larger part remains completely pristine – perfect for enjoying the idyllic natural surroundings.






Loulos beach
A small sandy cove near Kalo Livadi beach, surrounded by high cliffs with a completely natural setting.
An excellent choice for those seeking a calm and natural ambience.


Agia Anna beach
A fine sandy beach located in a picturesque bay, 11 km from Chora. Fine sandy beach located in a picturesque bay.
Transparent turquoise water is ideal for swimming and diving.
The beach features a beach bar occupying part of the shore, as well as a scenic restaurant perched on a rock on the right side. The left side of the beach offers enjoyment in the natural and tranquil setting.





Kalafatis beach
Kalafatis is a seaside village located 12 km from Chora, in a wide bay.
It features a spacious sandy beach with crystal-clear blue water and trees in the background providing shade.
Part of the beach is organized with beach bars and sunbeds, while the larger portion offers an untouched natural setting.
An exceptional choice for relaxation in a peaceful environment, as it is rarely crowded due to its distance and size.
