Impressive Ermoupoli
Ermoupoli is the capital of Syros and Cyclades! An impressive modern city with more than 11,000 inhabitants. Visitors are impressed from the first moment by the landscape of the city that rises from the harbor to the surrounding hills!
Ermoupoli does not have typical Cycladic architecture and is characterized by elegant architecture with neoclassical buildings, colorful mansions and impressive Orthodox churches!

The city is dominated by 2 hills with two imposing churches on the hilltops. On one of the hills there is the medieval settlement of Ano Syros, founded in the 13th century!
The beautiful neoclassical building of the Town Hall stands out in the city center with a large Miaouli square surrounded by palm trees and numerous cafes!
You must visit the most picturesque part of the city called Vaporia, where there are beautiful neoclassical villas and amazing church of Agios Nikolaos, the patron saint of the city! Elegant buildings of different colors built next to each other right next to the sea. There is a great view of the sea from there!
The real gem are the narrow marble-paved streets with lovely houses and flowers around. Colorful at every step!

Ano Siros
Ano Syros is the second largest place near Ermoupoli and the Catholic center of the island.
The medieval town built on the hill was built by the Venetians during the 13th century!
A beautiful place that bewitches you as you walk through the narrow streets and numerous steps that lead to the top of the hill where the Catholic Cathedral of Saint George dominates the place.
From there you can enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of Ermoupoli as well as the surrounding islands!
Ano Syros is the birthplace of Markos Vamvakaris, the Patriaarch of Rembetiko, who inspired many composers of Greek music!
